Wikipedia:Wikifun/Answers/Question 14
I guess it's the Jewish Autonomous Oblast in Russia (36,000 sq. km). The most recent figure for its population is 212,000. I searched "Jew", noted down Israel's size (around 27,000 sq. km), then clicked randomly on the Soviet Union link. From there I remembered the Jewish Autonomous Oblast though I couldn't remember its name, so I went to Demographics, Federal subjects of the soviet union, and Russian Far East before getting the answer. - The latest population figures for the Jewish Autonomous Oblast are actually up here: List of federal subjects of Russia by population which uses data from the 2002 census (the Jewish Autonomous Oblast page has the 1995 figure). So the population is 190,915 at last count (I hope). Found during a Google search for "Jewish Autonomous Oblast population". Maycontainpeanuts 11:20, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
This would be the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, with a population of 212000 (as of 1995). DS 23:39, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
(Bah - curse you, Maycontainpeanuts. Anyway, I pulled the information out of the back of my brain.) DS 23:40, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Jewish Autonomous Oblast.
I actually found myself on the Jewish Autonomous Oblast Wikipedia page a few weeks ago & remembered the odd fact about it being only 2% Jewish. --Roisterer 22:29, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This was a trick question: the Jewish Autonomous Oblast wasn't that hard to find, but the latest population figures were. I've now updated the article with the figure shown on List of federal subjects of Russia by population. Eugene van der Pijll 01:57, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
