Since both Korean- and Chinese-speaking players have their own terms, I think one should be careful with the introduction. What is true, is that the largest number of go technical terms used in English comes from Japanese usage. Historically, it is because players in the West learned from Japanese pros, and books and magazines translated from Japanese material.
Certainly sansan is a good example: it is the same is Chinese, Korean is samsam.
I think the best idea is to mention only words common in works in English, and other European languages.
