Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mariner Write
Appearance
- This is an advertisement. Article was listed as a copyvio, but the site owner gave permission for the text to be used. Article was then listed for speedy deletion, but it doesn't qualify: see Wikipedia:Spam#Advertisements_masquerading_as_articles, which says it must go through VfD. If someone wants to rewrite it as a real article, that would be great. Otherwise, delete.-gadfium (talk) 04:12, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- I've cleaned up the advertising talk, which leaves a very small compu-stub. Not sufficiently notable for my tastes, but I'm aware that others have less strict requirments. Delete. --fvw* 04:22, 2004 Dec 22 (UTC)

- Keep, now just another computer stub waiting for someone to expand it. Dan100 09:30, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)
- Weak keep. Being anti-Borg, I like alternatives, but that doesn't affect my Wikipedia voting--apparently this software was voted "MacHome Magazine's Application of the Month", nominated for Best Productivity Application at the 2003 MacUser-UK Awards, and touted as one of the "best alternatives to Microsoft Word" in MacWorld Magazine--once we start talking awards, I think software becomes notable. - Delete: not an article, still an advert. Wile E. Heresiarch 22:03, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Delete, should have been speedied as spam. Wyss 22:16, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Neutral — I have originally nominated it for speedy deletion [1] as an advertisement masquerading as article [2] (“Boasting an elegant and easy-to-use interface, Mariner Write can run on only 2MB of RAM. And that's no typo; only 38 MB less than Word®!” etc.) but now after fvw has rewritten it, it is no longer spam, so I won’t vote Delete. If the above informations about awards were in the article I would vote Keep. I’ll comment the content in Talk:Mariner Write. Rafał Pocztarski 17:29, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
