You are right - it does on reflection sound like marketing speak.

But tell me where in the social networking segment there is any reference to using social networks (and the trust these imply) to create virtual libraries. What this is doing is brand new and I must admit it is difficult when describing something new not to sound like a marketer.

I am not a person used to writing articles, had much involvement in Wikis or come from a academic background so if there are some tips or recommendations please let me know.

However, unlike any other social networking tool today CYNF has some very strong and unique features these include:

1. Asymetrical mapping of relationships 2. Use of network distance to control access to information (ie. in this case lendable assets) 3. Assets linked to social networks 4. Creation of virtual libraries created dynamically that are invitation only

What it offers is a far more valuable resource than Friendster. We are seeing people really latch on to the concept and felt that if there is an entry for Friendster, LinkedIn etc. then it would be appropriate to mention this unique use of social networking.

I agree at the moment we are relatively obscure, however we were recently asked to demo this application at the Microsoft Social Computing Symposium 2005. We are recognised locally in Australia. One organisation - West Australian Music Association has asked us to create a version specifically to allow musicians to share equipment.

Not sure what you are referring to on Google, the site has only been up a relatively short time and is not being marketed heavily. What exactly do you mean false positives and how is that important at this time. I would agree if the site had been around for a long time and still Google did not know it well but this is simply not the case.

But I do think that it is a valuable reference to a new use for social networking. If ultimately wikipedia is not interested in this article or a rewrite then its there loss.

If that is so, I suggest that you improve the article. You have a week for this vote to go through and massive improvement can influence people to keep an article which was originally an obvious candidate for deletion. As for whether it is Wikipedia's loss or not, that's a matter of opinion. It's not a big loss in any case and if the topic does become notable then the article will almost certainly be recreated even if the current decision is to delete it. -- Derek Ross | Talk 07:17, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)
