Excellent user. He made many articles on Royal Navy, Pacific War and generally military and warfare. He made about 13880 edits since March 2004. I believe, that he will be a good admin. -- Darwinek 09:50, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Support. A good and prolific editor, an even temperament, and makes some useful and well-observed points on his user page. Will be an asset to the sysop pool, we need more people providing for WP:DYK. Dbiv 19:20, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Support for the same reasons as Dbiv. Has been qualified for a while, but declined previous offers to nominate. --Michael Snow 20:05, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I don't recognised any of the other Wikiships-project editors that Darwinek nominated today, but Gdr is a sensible editor I would endorse. -- Solipsist 22:25, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Support, level-headed editor. Came across him in November and again in March. Has turned down a nomination in January. Would indeed be a good help at WP:DYK. Mgm|(talk) 19:30, Apr 7, 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
- A. I would move pages and contribute to Template:Did you know.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A. I've contributed to two featured articles (Battle of Leyte Gulf and Battle of Jutland); there's a partial list of other significant contributions at User:Gdr/Articles and illustrations at User:Gdr/Gallery.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
- A. None as far as I know. Dialogue, compromise, not working on highly contentious articles. Gdr 11:20, 2005 Apr 6 (UTC)
