Why has this English town being given an American style comma disambiguator. Should it not be Kenilworth (UK) if for some reason we have decided that it doesn't take precedence over the Illnois town. Pcb21| Pete 08:17, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I moved it (to make Kenilworth a disambiguation page), and renamed it following the style used by other cities in Category:Towns in Warwickshire (Coleshill, Warwickshire; Kingsbury, Warwickshire; Rugby, Warwickshire). —tregoweth 22:28, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)
I dont think this really warrants a disambiguation page, seem as there's only one other tiny village called Kenilworth. Most of the links to Kenilworth go to the town in Warks, which is undoubtedly the most famous place called Kenilworth. I think it should be put back. G-Man 19:58, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I disagree. Kenilworth, Illinois is the wealthiest suburb of Chicago and so is somewhat notable for that reason. Moreover, Kenilworth is also the title of a 19th century novel. I think Kenilworth warrants its own disambiguation page. Moncrief 20:07, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)
- If its so important then how come almost every link to 'Kenilworth' (See Here) goes to Kenilworth in England. I think on that basis alone it deserves to be put back with a link to the other Kenilworth at the top. G-Man 20:29, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- We should bear in mind of course that that is not a totally fair test - the Warwickshire Kenilworth was at Kenilworth for a long time - so it is only natural that links are biased that way - however even with that said, I agree with you. The Illnois Kenilworth is a mere rambot. Pcb21| Pete 22:26, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- What will we do when someone writes an article about the Sir Walter Scott novel Kenilworth? Re-disambiguate? Moncrief 00:02, Mar 23, 2005 (UTC)
Middle Aged and Dogging
[edit]Unsubstantiated opinions masquerading as facts seem to be creeping into this article. It would be fine to cite demographic sources / planning documents / press reports that 'criticise' Kenilworth for being middle-aged, but as a bald statement surely text like this doesn't belong in Wikipedia? Similarly, who says that 'Dogging' in a nature parks is a social problem? Having grown up some time ago as a teenager with my first car in Kenilworth I can assure you that there is a long and noble tradition of young folks nipping off to the woods at night for a quickie. It didn't seem to bother anyone then, apart from a police officer who arrived at a very unfortunate moment one night when I and a young lady were parked up near Baginton airport Infilms 07:26, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your experiences, but I currently live in Kenilworth and on the basis of the local papers (the abominable Kenilworth Observer) dogging is one of the main problems. That and grass growing too long. Thedreamdied 17:11, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Red link tidying?
[edit]This bit "Kenilworth was featured on To Buy Or Not To Buy on Monday 7th March 2011 by Ed Hall and Jonny Benarr" seems to be mostly red linked. Is it really notable to include it? Glider87 (talk) 05:50, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Commentary
[edit]I've reverted these two edits, because they appear to be commentary on factual accuracy, and as such belong here, not on the article. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:54, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
Hope I am doing this right:
There are several notable factual errors in this account. 1) The King's Arms does not face onto Warwick Road, it faces onto The Square. 2) Kenilworth railway station was not on Warwick Road, it was at the end of Station Road. 3) There was no Victorian development "west of the Abbey Fields", in fact pretty much all there is to the west of the Abbey Fields is Kenilworth castle! The Major Victorian developments were to the east of Warwick Road and south of Abbey Hill / Albion Street which saw the town extend towards the railway station (which had been built away from the existing habitation). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robin D Leach (talk • contribs) 14:15, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Overhaul
[edit]I've given this article a big and much needed overhaul recently, as the old version of the article was an incoherent, barely readable mess with poor referencing, especially the history section which was rambling, badly written, filled with irrelevant details, and poorly referenced. I've essentially completely rewritten it to be much tighter and more readable, plus improved on the modern Kenilworth section. I hope this is an improvement. It should never have been left in that poor state for so long. G-13114 (talk) 20:23, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
