[edit]

Hi Kinghajj,

I wandered by your userpage and was put back by the aggressive tone of the note on the top of the page. Communication between contributors is encouraged on Wikipedia and, if anything, your note is phrased to discourage it. Please consider rephrasing it address the tone. Regards, BanyanTree 16:42, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Banyan,

The note at the top is supposed to be a kind of stupid joke (hence why it links to the Ubuntu Linux page). Sorry if you were put-off by it. It really is just my way of expressing disbelief at anyone actually visiting my userpage.Kinghajj 03:57, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kinghajj, Thanks for the explanation, though I'm afraid the Ubuntu Linux reference still goes completely over my head. If you haven't received any other comments, it may just be me being dense. PS, please sign your posts with ~~~~. Cheers, BanyanTree 03:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reminding me to sign things. Maybe I'll replace "fuck" with "hell" to make it less threatening.--Kinghajj 03:57, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation of Wikipedia

[edit]

I noticed your question about pronouncing Wikipedia /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/ in which you asked if the stress is really on the second syllable /,wi'ki-/. I don't know of anybody who says it that way, but I've only heard it pronounced by maybe 5 or 6 other people. You may want to check out IPA for details regarding the stress markings. Cheers. --W0lfie 17:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stress markings in IPA are placed before the syllable that receives stress, correct? If so, then yes, I pronounce Wikipedia as /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/, with the primary emphasis on the /pi/, and a secondary stress on the /wI/. --Kinghajj 20:37, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I figured it out

[edit]

ok so i figured out how to talk to you... umm i'm confused... how did you know edward moore from BV was born in germany?!

First of all, please sign your posts so I can respond better. Second, it says in the `06 yearbook that he was born in Germany.--Kinghajj 06:03, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, i'm new at this sorry. uhhh i couldn't find it in the yearbook - what year are you? -- thebnproject 10:14, 9 august 2006
I'm going to be a senior this year. Look at the 2006 yearbook, page 154. "Guess fun facts about teachers." Question 1 is "Where was Mr. Ed Moore born?" Answer given on bottom is C, Germany.

Esperanto et aliæ

[edit]

I know what you mean, if you want we can build our own language. If you want a natural language that is easy, check out Afrikaans and/or Norwegian/Swedish. They are Germanic and have very simple grammars. The reason I don't reccomend Danish is because it has a pretty tricky orthography. Feel free to drop by whenever.Cameron Nedland 02:35, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I think about it, you want to learn LFN together?Cameron Nedland 03:06, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gtaivtrailer.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gtaivtrailer.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
